Client: Art Center at Night
Category: Magazine Spread
Date: 2017
This piece is a result of an assignment at art center from a typography class. The objective was to create a three page spread that includes a timeline expressed with type. For this assignment I chose an academic article that discusses an underground music scene in the Los Angeles Latino community. The type on page two and three is a timeline expression of glass shattered from a bullet.

This assignment and class helped me understand the importance of typographical hierarchy. In addition, I explored various methods of creating contrast between information to guide the reader.

Other Gathered Thoughts

  • Corrido emerged quickly in LA because it was prohibited to play in mass media in Mexico

Pull quote options
